We will continue our exploration of Christian texts by examining the stories Jesus tells in the Gospels, including the familiar parables of the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son. We will also read selections from letters Paul wrote to early Christian communities in Corinth and Rome, exploring how he articulated and explained the teachings of the emerging Christian faith. Throughout, we will consider these texts in their historical context and explore how understanding their Jewish roots and background can deepen our understanding of early Christianity. This class will meet in person after HAZAK Fitness and on Zoom.
