Parochet Dedication

The 18th Century Italian silk parochet (ark curtain), originally donated to Beth El by Badona and Maurice Spertus in 1962, now hangs in the Choos Alcove where a new information panel was unveiled on Sunday. Marla Hand,

Museum Committee Chair, shared the significance of this exceptional and historic artifact and Tara Hills, a conservator, explained the painstaking and time consuming work she did to repair and preserve the parochet. We gratefully acknowledge the generous gift from the Stephen Levin Family in memory of Diane Levin for the restoration of this very special treasure in our Rissman Kol Ami Collection.
