“Why Do We Sit in the Sukkah?” with Rabbi Vernon Kurtz

September 14, 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Why Do We Sit in the Sukkah?  Rabbi Vernon Kurtz for the Conservative Yeshiva

Monday, September 14 – 9:30-11:30 am

One of the major rituals of the holiday of Sukkot is the dwelling in a Sukkah throughout the seven-day festival. What is the message behind this ritual and why do we celebrate the holiday specifically in the fall season (at least in the northern hemisphere)? The class will offer us an appreciation of the custom as we prepare for this colorful and meaningful holiday.
