9:30 pm Dessert Reception
10:00 pm “Forgiveness: Between the Law and Lived Experience*” by Rabbi Goldie Guy}

Selichot is the opening service of the Penitential Season, observed on the Saturday night prior to Rosh Hashanah. It is the first time we hear the haunting nusah (liturgical modes) of the High Holy Days. Today, we use the evening as an opportunity for study and self-reflection, as well as prayer. We invite you to join us as we begin the High Holy Day season with a special lecture by Rabbi Goldie Guy, Director of Hadar Chicago, followed by Hazzan Sandler leading Selichot services.
