Hadar Chicago High Holiday Lecture: Creating The World Through Hesed

August 31, 7:00 pm

7:00 pm: Reception
7:30 pm: Evening Minyan
8:00 pm: Lecture by Rabbi Aviva Richman

Rosh Hashanah is meant to call to mind the majesty of divine creation. Yet, there are so many ways in which our world feels broken. What does it mean for the world to be created anew? Through the lens of rich sources woven together by the modern scholar Rabbi Yitzhak Hutner in a formative essay about Hesed, we will aim to face God and face ourselves in the task that lies ahead. Join Rabbi Aviva Richman and Hadar at NSS Beth El for an evening of meaningful Elul Torah and a celebratory reception as we launch Hadar Chicago.

NSS Beth El is excited to partner with Hadar (https://www.hadar.org/) to bring Project Zug (https://www.projectzug.org/#whatzug) to our learning community. Project Zug is an online havruta (paired) learning platform, which empowers Jews to take ownership over their learning through weekly one-on-one paired havruta learning. Project Zug is for people of all backgrounds and allows you to learn on your schedule from the comfort of your own home. Choose from over 30 courses and let the Project Zug team match you with a learning partner, or sign up with a friend. NSS Beth El members can participate at no charge. Contact Marcie Eskin for our exclusive coupon code.
