Frankel Scholar Lecture – Featuring Dr. Claire Sufrin

April 22, 10:00 am

Dr. Claire Sufrin of Northwestern University will speak about “The Theology of Elie Wiesel.” A young survivor of Auschwitz, Elie Wiesel (1928-2016) dedicated his life to making sure that the world knew about the horrors of the Holocaust. Given his dedication to the survival of Jews and of Judaism, Wiesel is often described as a theologian. Dr. Claire Sufrin will discuss several of Wiesel’s literary works and how, through considering both their form and content, we can draw out Wiesel’s ways of thinking about God. RSVP to Marcie Eskin at meskin@nssbethel.org.
