Finding Meaning in Prayer Virtual with Hazzan Barbara Barnett

October 13, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until December 15 2021

Class will not meet on 11/24/2021

Class Offerings and Descriptions

Make a deeper, spiritual dive into the text, subtext and music of the prayers contained in our siddur. Maybe you learned them by rote as a kid; perhaps they are as foreign to you as if they came from the moon. Maybe Jewish prayer seems inaccessible. Unapproachable. And who needs it, anyway? Take a leisurely, sometimes twisty, journey together through the siddur and discover the hidden meanings and mysteries contained in our tefillot.
Class will be held over Zoom.

While this is a Sisterhood Torah Fund class, it is open to ALL STUDENTS. You do not need to be a member of Sisterhood; you only have to make a minimum contribution of $54 to the Sisterhood Torah Fund to participate. And this donation will allow you to attend all of the other Sisterhood Torah Fund classes during the 2021-2022 year including the Book Club.
