Our Beth El community focuses on Gemilut Chasadim, “acts of loving kindness.” We celebrate life’s joys in the lives of our members and offer support during times of difficulty, illness, life-stress, and loss.
This emphasis on Acts of Loving Kindness is especially important during this time of the Coronavirus pandemic. Through our Bikkur Cholim, HAZAK Senior Life, and Social Action outreach programs Beth El provides caring and support to help our members as well as to the wider community through some of life’s challenges.
Bikkur Cholim refers to the mitzvah to visit and extend aid to the sick. This mitzvah is not limited to an age or stage in life. Whether it is you or your loved one who is in need, facing extensive medical challenges, facing a life-transition, or are home-bound, Beth El can be your caring resource. HAZAK is here for all of Beth El! HAZAK’s outreach is not only to seniors but to anyone in our congregation who may need help with meals, grocery shopping, and medication pick-up. As the weather gets colder, please remember that we’re here for you. Click here to learn more about HAZAK.
NSS Beth El’s Social Action Committee helps individuals and families work together to perform meaningful mitzvot that benefit both our Jewish Community and the larger community around us. We believe that congregants of all ages grow from the experience of volunteering and giving through programs that emphasize the core values of tikkun olam.
