Celebrating the Joy of Shabbat
Shabbat is the centerpiece of our worship. Beth El Congregants of all ages look forward to coming together to share the joy of Shabbat and participate in its prayers, music, and blessings.
Kabbalat Shabbat Services at 6:15 pm on Friday evenings mark the beginning of Shabbat. Services continue on Saturday with Shabbat morning Services at 8:50 am. Members have the opportunity to share in the special occasions of fellow congregants, including b'nai mitzvah celebrations, auf rufs, brit milah, and baby namings.
Our Shabbat (Sabbath) morning service is conducted almost entirely in Hebrew. We use the Sim Shalom Siddur (Pray book) and the Humash (Bible) we use is the new Etz Hayim Torah and Commentary published by the Rabbinical Assembly and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Shabbat Torah Study Groups and visiting scholars enhance the Shabbat Experience throughout the year.
Additionally we offer:
• B'Yachad Family Service: Services for families with children in 1st grade and younger
• Jr. Congregation Service: Staff-led weekly services for 2nd thru 5th grader offers opportunities for our youth to lead the worship service
• Teen Minyan Services: These services are exclusively for our teens and led by our teens! Services are held once a month.
• Beit Midrash Minyanim: Congregant-led monthly services for all ages offers a more intimate, informal Shabbat service.
