Winner of the Solomon Schechter Award from the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism

The Joseph and Mae Gray Cultural and Learning Center of North Suburban Synagogue Beth El is a multi-media resource center, which includes the Maxwell Abbell Library, the Pinsof Children's Reading Room, the Gertrude Lederman Art Room, the Susan Fisher Glick Memorial Research Center, the Grossinger-Brickman Activity Center, and the Kaye Reading Room.  While the focus of the Learning Center is its book collections, the computers, video, dvd, cd and audio tape collections, and audio-visual equipment offer expanded resources for the student of Judaica. We have materials for all ages, from young children to adults.

The Learning Center loans materials and assists, not only the congregants of North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, but residents of the surrounding communities and other synagogues and Jewish institutions. We provide research support for adult education classes and teachers, holiday bibliographies and specialized bibliographies on select topics, to support particularly unique programs.   We are also linked to the online version of the Encyclopedia Judaica .
